Owner says the 50th & France business will likely be moving to a new location.
The 50th & France store known for literally putting a spring in customers’ steps will soon be bouncing right out of retail district, according to management.
Sprongs, which sells Z-CoiL shoes designed to alleviate foot, leg and back pain, will be moving from its France Avenue home when its lease comes up for renewal later this year.
Britt Molde, co-owner of the store, said they decided to look at other spaces and consider all available options due to substantially increased rent.
“Our lease just came up and it was going to be a lot more expensive if we signed,” Molde said. “I think rent has really gone up in the area.”
Molde said they’re checking around to see if there might be a better location for Sprongs, with no set idea as far as where that could be in the metro.
“We could be just moving to another location, but we’re also considering selling the business to another owner,” she said. “Anything is open right now.”
